David Trinidad's Sleeping with Bashō featured in California Review of Books 31 Outstanding Poetry Books from 2024!

David Trinidad's Sleeping with Bashō is featured in David Starkey’s "31 Outstanding Poetry Books from 2024," his feature in the California Review of Books. Starkey’s annual poetry round-up is wide and varied. Starkey says, “a number of the books I reviewed are new and selected volumes covering the careers of well-established writers. However, even younger poets seemed to be thinking in terms of brevity and density, trying to compress experience and music and ideas into as few lines as possible rather than allowing language to drift like smoke in great clouds of wavering meaning.”

Bio Note: Geoffrey Gatza is the author of the poetry collections The House of Forgetting (2012), Apollo: A Conceptual Poem (2014), and A Dog Lost in the Brick City of Outlawed Trees (2018).

Gatza’s poems have been published in anthologies, as well as magazines and journals including Fence, Tarpaulin Sky, The Pickled Body, Peach Mag, Tupelo Quarterly and various others. His play on Marcel Duchamp was staged in an art installation in Philadelphia and performed in NYC.
